Ultrasound Therapy

In ultrasound therapy, sound waves penetrate soft tissues to treat pain conditions and promote tissue healing. An electric current is sent through crystals in the ultrasound probe in order to generate sound waves. Vibrations of the crystals in the probe cause waves to travel through the skin and the tissues below transferring the energy.

Ultrasound therapy is used to promote tissues healing following an acute injury such as ligament sprain and muscle tear or a chronic condition like arthritis.
